Movie Review: The Descendants

Plot:

A land baron tries to re-connect with his two daughters after his wife suffers a boating accident.

Thoughts:

In this movie Clooney gives an outstanding performance as an out of touch with his family real estate attorney taking over the responsibility of raising his two daughters after his wife's accident all the while juggling his law practice and being the executor of a massive land fortune. Shailene Woodley gives a passable performance as his rebellious, foul mouth teenaged daughter who is sent away to boarding school to clean up her act, who is then called home to help care for her younger sibling. Newcomer Amara Miller plays his younger daughter trying to cope with having her father care for her after her mother's accident and the changes that come with having her sister being a role model. In the movie we see what happens when family secrets are revealed how it tears people's lives apart and changes family dynamics. We also see the greed in families when money is involved. The movie's backdrop is Hawaii, it shows that this is not always a paradise state for those of us who only see the glam and glitz.

I think that this would be a good movie to see in the theaters it is a R rated movie, it has lots of explicit language.
