MAC Haul

Hello all,

So Mac had a collection after Christmas some of the colors are gorgeous but some of the stuff if you had others, it wasn't worth getting... they are having another collection called the peacocky collection coming out sometime around 01/06/2011.. it will contain metallic shadows and lip colors.... it looks like it might be something worth looking at...

Anyhow this is what I bought from the collection:

They had a gold nail polish called soiree that sold out right away, a platinum color polish... the fluid eyeliner in an eggplant color... a paint pot in a orange called let it pop... the gloss is from the dare to wear collection... swatches to follow later..

Wet N Wild Holiday Palette : Sugar Plum Fairy

First I started out with my Mac Prep and Prime primer( I like but not as much as i loved my Fyeye primer).
I then used the Palette...  lets go from left to right: on the right hand side second one in I used that all over eye... the on my outer v i used the one the very bottom of the right hand side... On my crease i used the on the bottom left... then on my inner v i used the white on the top left..it looked a little dark so i wanted to lighten it out.. then I used the one on the top right as a highlight all the way up to my brow bone..

Sephora Gift Sets

I happened to stumble across these as I was doing my holiday shopping.. The Too faced kit was only $20 it contained a full size mascara, lipstick, 3 of the lock down cream eye shadows with the built in eye primer, full sized lip gloss.. in my humble opinion totally worth it..

The Urban Decay gift set contained : full sized primer in sin, the 24/7 pencils, 2 full sized liquid eye liners, small eyeshadow in gypsy and gems for you to put on your eye... valued at $52... but I paid $39....

Also as an FYI: Mac is having a great collection released on 12/26/2010

Pink & Brown Eyeshadow

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully you had a good weekend, if you live in minnesota you know that saturday there was an epic snowstorm... 17.5 inches in minneapolis alone ... lets just say  I was up to my knees in snow.. but anyhoo I digress... the pink and brown look:

Use Primer this extends the time that your eye make up last .. for  this one I used the MAC prep and prime in medium ($16.50)... stayed on pretty well.
Then I used Mac Plum Dressing e/s all over the lid
In the crease I used bronze from the NYX 78 e/s palette
On the brow bone I used MAC petalescent e/s.. I believe that may be a limited edition shadow.. but any soft pink would do..
For My Face I used Avon perfect wear extralasting liquid foundation in Honey.. it stays put all day with no transfer to my clothes..
I also used  MAC Mineralize skinfinish natural in medium deep ($26.00)
Thanks
G

Daily Face Washing Regime (For Winter)

For those of you live in Minnesota or anywhere that it snows. You know what I am about to say..

It gets cold as all get out.. and your skin gets dry, itchy and sometimes it feels like it's on fire..  I have one word for you.... moisturizer is key..

I know you probably think  Im kidding but I am not

When I wake up in the morning here is  what I do :

Step 1. Wash face with lukewarm water and cleanser ( I use Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser because apparently I have sensitive skin)  you can get this at any department store , Ulta or Sephora

Step 2. I use a toner to just clean up my face and help balance it out. I use the sensitive skin formula ( its not quite so harsh) ... I use the target brand they are made by the same people only cheaper (neat right)..

Step 3.  I know that we may think that because we are young we don't have to worry about wrinkles.. but ladies now is the time to protect yourself.. use the moisturizer... I use Serious Skin Care A-Force XR Nanoencapsulated Retinol Serum..  I put in on my face and neck.. I know we all forget that our necks need moisture..but please please remember your neck...

Step 4.  Use foundation with an SPF.. we might think that cause its winter spf doesnt matter... but let me tell you it does. just cause you cant feel the sun doesn't mean its not doing damage.

Thanks
G

My Perfect Manicure

I have found that many people have a different answer for the perfect manicure but what I have found that works is the following:

First I wash my nails with a nail brush and hand soap (can be found at your local drug store), then I use a buffing block. then because I live in the frozen tundra (haha) during the winter I'll use something on my cuticles religiously... ( I have the secret of the dead sea manicure set unscented, it has the buffing block, cuticle oil. lotion and a nail file)

I find that when I do add polish if i use a base coat it helps to keep my polish on longer I use the CND stickey base coat (available at Ulta for $8)

This color that I have on is OPI Funky Dunkey polish from the Shrek collection.. lovely purple..(one of my top 5 faves for color) also available at Ulta ... topcoat OPI rapid dry .. then I also used a nail spray to dry( it is in a green can).. can be found at Wal-mart on the cheap.

Thanks
G

Welcome

Greetings from the frozen tundra,

I have decided that after all the years of buying products... (and i mean a ton) that i would use them (hehe) and tell the world my thoughts.... I am a believer in the knowledge is power philosophy... I am in no means a professional... but I'm learning and would like to have you on this journey....

Thanks
G
