Tools Of The Trade

So I was asked a question last night , that i thought would be something interesting for everybody to know....

Question: What are the essential brushes to have in my makeup kit

So here is my answer :  As any good trade man would tell you, you are only as good as the tools you have....

So  I have determined that the essential make-up kit consist of 5 brushes: these are from mac but there are other less expensive ones...

1.

222 Tapered Blending BrushApplying, contouring or highlighting powder-based products such as eye shadow, powder, or Pigment. Soft round "brush" tapers into a tip. Of natural :

208 Angled Brow Brush

Applies colour to the brow. Use to define or add "fill". Its precise angled tip provides pro-style application. Synthetic / natural blend fibre. Use to apply powder, liquid or cream products.

This can be used for gel eyeliner as well...

249 Large Shader Brush

For applying and/or blending eye shadow. Paddle shaped, with a flat rounded tip. Synthetic: its soft fibres provides pro-quality pick-up and distribution of powder, liquid or cream products.


I use this brush to put shadow all over the lid..

150 Large Powder Brush

Full and dense for dusting loose or pressed powder on face or body. This brush is particularly good for blush application with soft fibers that form a full, rounded shape. 129 Powder/Blush Brush
