Dang Its Cold Out.....

So today is another below zero day here in the frozen tundra....and as I was walking out the door itching my oh so dry arms it got me to thinking what is the best way to moisturize your skin for this weather..

Ingredients to look for in lotion :

Shea Butter

Benefits Of Shea butter:

·          Stretch mark prevention during pregnancy
·          Minor burns
·          Eczema
·          Sun and wind protection
·          Even skin tone
·          Reduce blemishes and scarring
·          Eliminating scalp irritation from dryness or chemical processing
·          Preventing bumps after shaving
·          Reducing acne (especially in combination with African Black Soap)
·          Absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue
·          Helps restore elasticity to skin
·          Restores luster to hair
·          Daily skin moisturizer (face and body)
·          Dry skin relief
·          Dry scalp
·          Skin rash- including diaper rash
·          Skin peeling, after tanning
·          Blemishes and wrinkles
·          Itching skin due to dryness
·          Sunburn
·          Shaving cream to reduce razor irritation
·          Small skin wounds
·          Skin cracks
·         Soften tough skin on feet (especially heels)

Jojoba Oil:

Benefits of Jojoba Oil

  • Provides all day moisturization – jojoba oil doesn’t evaporate like water based moisturizers can.
  • It is theorized, but not yet proven, that because jojoba oil is so similar to human skin oil, it can "trick" the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil and thus balance oil production.
  • Very stable – jojoba oil does not become rancid or lose antioxidants even after long periods of storage.
  • Spreads well and absorbs well.
  • The organic variety is free of pesticides, GMOs, and is sustainably farmed.

Daily Face Washing Regime (For Winter)

For those of you live in Minnesota or anywhere that it snows. You know what I am about to say..

It gets cold as all get out.. and your skin gets dry, itchy and sometimes it feels like it's on fire..  I have one word for you.... moisturizer is key..

I know you probably think  Im kidding but I am not

When I wake up in the morning here is  what I do :

Step 1. Wash face with lukewarm water and cleanser ( I use Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser because apparently I have sensitive skin)  you can get this at any department store , Ulta or Sephora

Step 2. I use a toner to just clean up my face and help balance it out. I use the sensitive skin formula ( its not quite so harsh) ... I use the target brand they are made by the same people only cheaper (neat right)..

Step 3.  I know that we may think that because we are young we don't have to worry about wrinkles.. but ladies now is the time to protect yourself.. use the moisturizer... I use Serious Skin Care A-Force XR Nanoencapsulated Retinol Serum..  I put in on my face and neck.. I know we all forget that our necks need moisture..but please please remember your neck...

Step 4.  Use foundation with an SPF.. we might think that cause its winter spf doesnt matter... but let me tell you it does. just cause you cant feel the sun doesn't mean its not doing damage.

Thanks
G
